LOVE THE LA TIMES ESPECIALLY THE N. Y. WALL STREET:)
App constantly says I'm not subscribed when I am. Does not handle links from other sources like Google News well. Always shows a banner asking me to subscribe when I already am.
Android version is outdated compared to iOS. Still has the clunky download option where you have to select pages and generate a PDF. But once generated the link doesn't work--I click it repeatedly but nothing happens.
Works
Dismal handling of notifications. Most of the time I click, wait 30 seconds, when the app comes up, it incorrectly says I'm not a subscriber and kicks me to the front page. But when I check, it shows I'm signed in and subscribed.
As a subscriber, I'm sad to see this app being so broken when it matters most. The app sends a breaking news notification, you tap on it.... and then wait up to 20 seconds on a modern phone. When the app shows up, a good chunk of the time it thinks you are not a subscriber, claims you are out of articles, and redirects you to the homepage to find the article that brought you there on your own. I'm unsubscribing, due to this app's poor behavior making it feel useless.
The news is fine -- although I would prefer more weekly delivery options for digital only. The deal breaker is still having ads even though I pay for a subscription. This is absolutely not acceptable. Period. Companies seem to think the problem is targeted ads vs non-targeted ads and "protecting user data". No! The problem is advertising itself when I already pay with my wallet! This is entirely user hostile and exactly why LA Times has such high turnover for digital subscriptions.
Love it easy to use
It jo
This news outlet has been mocking people's deaths, what kind of subhuman garbage would even have that cross their minds? What a sick and twisted place this must be to work. Will no longer subscribe or use their services, much better alternatives out there. Disgusting 🤢
